Module Cloning Bath — ECU & BCM Cloning Specialist | The Vehicle Check
ECU and Module Cloning
for Bath Drivers
Replaced a module only to find the car won't start? Bought a second-hand ECU that won't communicate? Module cloning transfers the exact data from your old unit to the new one — no lockout, no coding, no dealer visit.
Book a Cloning Job →What Is Module Cloning and Why Do Bath Drivers Need It?
Every ECU, BCM, BSI, ISM and body control module contains unique data that is matched to your car's other systems. Fit a second-hand module without transferring this data and the car simply won't recognise it — it may refuse to start, flag immobiliser warnings or behave erratically.
Cloning reads the full data from your original module and writes it exactly onto the replacement unit, making the new module behave identically to the old one. We do this via our postal service: post both units to us, we clone and return, usually within 2–3 working days.
ECU Cloning
Transfer immobiliser data, VIN, adaptation values and calibration settings from your old ECU to a replacement unit. Avoids expensive dealer programming.
BCM / Body Control Module
BCM cloning transfers all vehicle-specific settings including key data, lighting preferences and comfort functions. Essential when fitting a used BCM.
BSI / UCH Cloning
Peugeot, Citroen and Renault BSI and UCH units hold the entire vehicle's electronic identity. We clone these accurately without risking immobiliser lockout.
ISM / DSM Cloning
Mercedes integrated and driver selector modules contain critical mileage and configuration data. We clone these safely with full data verification before and after.

How Module Cloning Works — Step by Step
Tell Us Your Modules
Contact us with your car make, model and the module you need cloning. We'll confirm it's possible and advise on what to send.
Post Both Units
Send us your original module and the replacement unit together in a single tracked parcel. Label them clearly as original and replacement.
We Clone and Verify
Full data read, clone and post-clone verification. We check the cloned module communicates correctly before returning anything.
Both Units Returned
Both your original and cloned replacement are returned tracked. Fit the cloned unit and the car should recognise it immediately.
Module Cloning Questions Answered
Does the replacement module need to be from the same car?
It needs to be the same part number or a compatible equivalent. A module from a completely different model or generation may not be clonable. Call us first and we'll advise.
Is cloning legal?
Yes — cloning your own module data onto a replacement unit for your own vehicle is entirely legal. We do not clone modules for any unlawful purpose.
What if the original module is dead and can't be read?
Some dead modules can still be read at chip level. Others cannot — in which case we'll advise on alternative options. We won't charge you if it turns out to be impossible.
